We believe in the power of community, creativity, and collaboration. This belief came to life in a remarkable way when we welcomed 14 extraordinary female entrepreneurs through The Break program, an international initiative dedicated to fostering female entrepreneurship across Spain.
Funded by the EU–Next Generation as part of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, The Break (#TheBreakFellowship) is designed to attract and support innovative projects led by women from across the EU, with a special focus on rural communities.
From May to June 2023, our space in the tranquil countryside became a vibrant hub of ideas and inspiration. Women from Finland, Germany, Portugal, Poland, Greece, and beyond joined us at Open Orbi, bringing with them a wealth of knowledge and a shared passion for making a difference. Set against the peaceful backdrop of rural nature, our participants found a work environment that not only fueled their creativity but also offered a healthy balance of serenity and productivity. This unique connection with nature enhanced the overall experience, making the work ambiance healthy, peaceful, and tranquil.
Over the course of several weeks, these entrepreneurs engaged in intensive networking, skill-building, and mentorship activities. We organized events featuring industry experts in innovation, marketing, social media, and more—not only to support local projects in Soria but also to empower each participant to strengthen her entrepreneurial journey.
What emerged from this period was more than just a series of workshops and meetings; it was the creation of a thriving community, now a family of intelligent, proactive individuals eager to work toward a better future. As a coworking and coliving space rooted in a rural setting, our greatest achievement was fostering a sense of belonging among these women, allowing them to share their experiences, learn from each other, and grow together in a serene environment that promotes both personal and professional well-being.
After the program, most of the participants have returned to Open Orbi to work remotely on their projects, while also continuing to build this community of entrepreneurs, making it stronger and more vibrant. Their return speaks to the powerful integration of nature and work that defines the Open Orbi experience.
